First news and confirmations in Ibiza venues for the 2018 season
As another season on the isle is about to be conceived, we try to discover what lies ahead for Ibiza 2018. We saw white smoke and confirmations to start emerging in February with all residencies usually confirmed by April. As usual, leaks and rumours will fuel the speculation in the micro environment of the islands clubbing landscape. For now, here are the biggest news about changes and confirmations in the most important venues for the 2018 season.
First of all, Cocoon Ibiza will move from Amnesia to Pacha.
After 18 years at Amnesia, Sven Väth and co. will take up residency at the iconic super club. Väth has hosted the legendary Monday event at Amnesia for 18 seasons and 2018 will see him move the event to Pacha for the very first time. In a Facebook post, Sven said: "Change is the only constant. Ibiza will never stop changing and not will Cocoon. In 2018 Pacha will be our new home. A new Pacha. This is metamorphosis multiplied by 2 and I am so excited about this collision of visions. Lets turn this page and get on the dancefloor. Love Sven". Moreover, Cocoon moves from Mondays to Wednesdays nights. Regardless of the move, we'll see you on the dancefloor in May.
Amnesia presents a new Monday party called Pyramid.
The party, that will replace Cocoon on Monday night, starts with truly intriguing premises. As announced in the Amnesia official website, “the mantra of Pyramid is to return to an old Ibiza party atmosphere. A special kind of energy on the dancefloor, with music and dancing until the early hours of the morning. The decoration and performances will bring a uniquely creative vibe to the super club. They will be combining organic materials with high tech lighting and technology.” Except for these official informations, there's still a lot of mystery which surrounds Pyramid. What the music style will be and who will be djing at the parties is still yet to be revealed. Rumours say that Ricardo Villalobos will be the protagonist of the event...that means that the Chilean dj will abandon the Cocoon party after 18 years of collaboration to be faithful to his beloved Amnesia Terrace.
The Zoo Project officially moves to Sundays
in 2018. During this season, the former Saturday staple will take over Benimussa Park every Sundays from May until October.
Resistence at Privilege announces its party that will take place every Tuesday night with artists such as Carl Cox, Joseph Capriati, Loco Dice, Richie Hawtin and Maceo Plex and many more. ( find out more)
Speaking about his residency Carl Cox said: “I am looking forward to coming back to Ibiza and playing for Resistence at Privilege for their second season. [...] I cannot wait to party and make history once again on the White Island.”
Hyte party, that has taken place at Amnesia on Wednesday during the last three years with his iconic shows by Loco Dice, until now has not announced nothing about a possible confirmation or cancellation. But it seems that the Italian multi-millionaire and Instagram superstar Gianluca Vacchi will show his weekly residency at Amnesia on Wednesday nights with the artistic production by the famous Made in Italy Group that will kick off at the end of June.
And what about Mosaic by Maceo Plex? We don't have any news from this party. Mosaic during the past season occupied Pacha every Tuesday.
There are romours also about a possible change in the venue of Tale of us' Afterlife. There is the possibility that Afterlife will not continue in Privilege and that Hï can be the new house of Afterlife in 2018 in Ibiza. After a 2017 where Privilege club was the home of the Afterlife party in Ibiza, in this 2018 Tale Of Us could move to the Ushuaïa nightclub, probably during Thursday. Surely in a few days Tale Of Us & Afterlife will confirm their new home for this 2018 in Ibiza.
So, until now the confirmations in venues for this season are:
Music On at Amnesia every Friday night, Circoloco ad DC10 every Monday, Labirynth by Hot Since 82 at Pacha every Friday, Solomun+1 at Pacha every Sunday and Jamie Jones' Paradise at DC10 every Wednesday.
